Nice. How was the flight over water? Did you climb up to high altitude in the event of an engine out?

We stayed at the same altitude as the LAX Special Flight Rules Area (i.e. "sky tunnel") the entire way there, which was at 3,500'. Not much to land in between LA and Catalina in the event of an emergency so altitude in that case isn't really feasible unless you're climbing really high, which wouldn't work out for landing at Catalina. I did take an inflatable life jacket tho!
